Every Tuesday night either between Maghrib and Isha or After Isha, depending on the time of year since the prayer times change, we have an advanced class for reciting and memorizing the Quran. If you would like to join us for the weekly lecture, please make sure that you can read Quran and that you are willing to make a commitment of showing up every week. So far, we have brothers that have memorized 3 Juz and continuing to add to what they already memorized.

There are many reasons on why memorizing the Quran is of great importance, a single page on a website would not do it justice as to how important it is. Here are a couple of beautiful hadiths to serve as some encouragement in the right direction.

Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merit as well.

“Verily the one recites the Quran beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. Ans as for the who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
